Family Law Attorney Qualifications

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1984 and my Juris Doctor in 1990, and I have been practicing family mediation since 1986 and family law since 1991 in Arlington, Virginia. I worked as a family law attorney and mediator at two law firms for the first thirteen years of my legal career, prior to establishing my own practice in 2004 that focuses on collaborative solutions for separation, divorce and other family law matters.

  • Virginia Supreme Court Certified Mediator (Advanced Family, Circuit Court Family and Juvenile & Domestic Relations)
  • Executive Board Member D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals 2014-15

  • Basic and Advanced Interdisciplinary Training in Collaborative Practice
  • Founding Chair, Virginia Collaborative Professionals 2006
  • 2004-2005 Chair of the Virginia Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee
  • Substitute Judge, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court (1997-2005)
  • Adjunct Law Professor, Alternative Dispute Resolution, George Mason University School of Law (1996-1997)
